There is a very famous quote by the early Church father Tertullian:
“The Son of God was born: there is no shame, because it is shameful.
And the Son of God died: it is wholly credible, because it is unsound.
And, buried, He rose again: it is certain, because impossible.”
(De Carne Christi V, 4)
This absurd argument was followed by the fanatic Christians over the centuries and is still being followed by those who continue to persist in their belief. It was an inspiration during the Crusades; an ideological backbone for those who had to face reality and had an enormous task of reconciling it with the unreal dogma of Christianity.
In effect it is a brazen acceptance of the falseness of a belief and yet a plea for its militant defense. Often it is the only way in which an ideology can be supported. It has to deny truth as a rule. We experience something familiar in the contemporary Leftist-liberal Indian media.
With Marx, Lenin and Mao as their guru I do not need to go into detail here about the dogmas of Indian media. Just as a refresher: being the closest ally of the Islamic apologists they have to whitewash every crime related with Islam, including all the terrorist attacks. They shift the blame on a non-Muslim authority such as the US or the Hindu masses in India.
Just a few hours ago the peaceful and beautiful city of Pune was rocked by the Islamic terrorist attack in which 9 people have died so far. Reactions of general public started pouring in on social media sites and twitter was all abuzz with the shocking event. There were two types of responses to the event.
While the masses fumed over the terrorist activities of Pakistan and the Islamic organizations, the media reiterated its faith in candle light walks; while the masses expressed their anger and frustration over the inactivity and failure of the Indian State and the Congress government, the media called for Aman ki Asha; while the masses called for defensive action, the media propagated turning a blind eye to terrorism.
The masses see the reality, the media denies it. The masses accept the truth of Islamic terrorism, the media denies it in order to nurture the ideology of Secularism. The limits it can go to under its ideological compulsion are extreme. A very representative tweet:
The same Tertullian overtones of ideological fanaticism. The ideology involved here is Indian Secularism. There are many Tertullians in Indian media who, propagating the Left-liberal ideas, consider it their sacred duty to whitewash Islamic terrorism of any guilt. As the scenario of terrorism unfolds it becomes increasingly harder for them to carry on their ideology and as a consequence they turn to desperate measures. One of them says that we should not fight with Pakistan just because it is time consuming!
While our State philosopher Shashi Tharoor gave the terrorists benefit of the doubt and called for restraint! Restraint from the masses! And not from the terrorists!
There was a cunning comparison of internal threats like the Sena antics with the global phenomenon of Islamic terrorism. The motive is to downplay the importance of the issue of Islamic terrorism while highlighting the absurdities of Sena. In the current blasts NDTV first portrayed it as an accident and is still trying to do so. It’s not hard to understand the motives.
While Vir Sanghvi was writing just a few hours before, telling how Sena is as bad as Islamic terrorists.

Only a few like Kanchan Gupta had the guts to say something harsh and true.
But under all this there is a silver lining. The Left-lib media dominated the scene in the age of mass media. Holding the major institutions in its hand it manipulated reality. But in the age of Internet it is no longer possible. The demassification and the decentralization which the Internet has brought to the common people has for the first time given them an independent voice, almost as strong as that of the mass media. Slowly their power will grow and they will overwhelm the traditional mass media. The phenomena is already taking place and our Left-lib media is worried about it. Some of them including Sagarika Ghose and Vikram Chandra let out that they are aware of the growing nationalist Hindu presence on Internet.
Let us keep this fire of truth burning and report every such event truthfully, defeating the machinations of the mainstream mass media.
Interesting take Pankaj ! Well done !
Thanks!
Another profound article by a profound writer. The author has reflected views of silent majority
through this blog. I want to thank and congratulate the author for bringing cowardice of coward Indian liberals into limelight. Once again kudos to you for this timely post.
Very Interesting article pankaj…. Seems like our leftist media still tryin to row the ship which sunk in 1992 (fall of USSR). Are these islamists their kins and brothers ? Surely media is not blind . The only reason seems fitting is that Indian media is being funded by gulf money to cover up Islamists crimes…
Yes they indeed are being funded by the petro dollars of the Middle East. The infrastructure was created by the USSR and now after its fall it is being actively used by the Islamists
I agree with Vikram Chandra, Right wing looneys clutter the cyber space and they harangue you for saying something they don’t agree, being cynical and altogether rather personal in their tweets (replies) to you. Being Right is not wrong but one has to express his views in a balanced manner and try not to condemn others for having a different view. Sir, you would qualify as another Anti Muslim, Liberal hating person. BTW I believe in Conservative politics.
Sometimes I wonder that only those who are at the Right are liable to be called loonies. Those on the Left can never get that nickname however absurd they get.
On the Left they can go on favoring burkha and justifying the terrorist attacks. And its the Rightists who get to be called as loonies! Strange logic indeed!
However I don’t think there exists in India a right-wing. The RSS is very socialist in all its policies except when it comes to Muslims and even that is confined to India as when it comes to Iraq or Israel they stand along with their Leftist brothers in supporting the terrorists and opposing the US.
I won’t argue for a traditional Western Right wing in India as that entails an anti-scientific and pro-Church attitude. It is a geographical and historical term which does not apply to India.
I am most clearly an anti-Communist, anti-Leftist but I don’t find myself supporting anti-global warming hocus pocus of the American Right.
About loonies on net there are far more of them on the side of Left than on the “Right”. Our media just ignores them or worse, makes it look like as if theirs is a neutral opinion. Internet is breaking the monopoly of the Leftist mass-media on net and that is what the likes of Vikram Chandra cannot digest. They are clearly growing uncomfortable about it as they see it the end of era, just like the era of Stalin or Hitler.
I am anti-Islam as I am also anti-Communist and anti-Nazi. In short I am anti of every ideology including the religious ideologies. My very point is that I see the fault in Islam and not in the Muslims. Being educated in the ‘secular’ milieu you typically miss this point.
I oppose institutions like burkha which enslave women and Vikram Chandra and Barkha Datt support and they qualify as liberal and I as liberal hating?
I oppose the greatest mass murderers of history – the Leftists. NDTV supports them, in fact they ARE them! And they are liberal and not me?
I oppose religious fundamentalism and NDTV encourages its worst brand in the form of terrorism and I am a liberal hating person and not them?
If you care to check your own ideology you will find a curious case of how reality is inverted and taken to mean exactly opposite of what it really is.
Excellent job!
Wish you all the best and every success!
Thanks! Keep visiting.
Keep up the good work. Show the ugly side of Indian Media to the people.
Thank you Dinesh! You are also doing a great job!
Painstakingly done. And very convincing. A post well done!
